Council resolved at its meeting of 8 October 2009 to place the draft Byron Shire Coastal Zone Management Plan on public exhibition.

The draft Byron Shire Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) is on exhibition for a period of 60 days from Thursday 22 October 2009 until Tuesday 22 December 2009.

Copies of the draft CZMP and accompanying information are available at Council’s community access points including the Federal Store, Bangalow Post Office, Summerland Credit Union Ocean Shores, Suffolk Park Holiday Park, Shire Libraries, and Council’s Administration Centre, Station Street Mullumbimby, between the hours of 9.00am and 4.00pm.

Byron Shire Council welcomes your feedback and formal submissions on the draft Byron Shire Coastal Zone Management Plan should be submitted either online or in writing by 4pm, Tuesday 22 December 2009.  The results of submissions will be reported to Council in 2010.

Submissions close: Tuesday 22 December 2009 4.00pm

Submissions will be made public in accordance with section 12 of the Local Government Act 1993 (Document Request) or the FOI Act 1989 (FOI Application) as applicable including both the substance of the objection and the identity of the objector unless the objector can demonstrate that Clause 4 of Schedule 1 of the FOI Act 1989 applies (documents affecting law enforcement and public safety).
