Byron Youth Service specialises in education and training programs for disengaged young people aged 12-25 who have left school early or are at risk of leaving school. BYS encourages young people in a supported learning environment where they are able to establish a vocational pathway and positive life choices.

Street Cruise is an initiative of Byron Youth Service and aims to increase the safety of young people under 18 on the streets of the Byron Bay CBD.
Street Cruise staff and volunteers maintain a street presence each Friday night between 8pm and 12am. Extra shifts arise on long weekends and other holiday periods.

The Batbus provides accessible transport for 12-25 year olds of Byron Shire. If you need to go out with your friends and transport is a problem, the Bat Bus could help. Some of the venues the Batbus goes to are movies, sporting events, theme parks, restaurants and exhibitions. Fares are cheap and affordable and the Batbus is a drug and alcohol free service.

Uncle is a mentoring program existing for boys (particularly those with absent fathers) who would benefit from a more supportive environment of positive male role models.
Uncle recruits, screens, trains and supports adult male mentors to spend time with local boys, and organizes and facilitates activities and workshops where men and boys interact, learn, play and work together.
Uncle has been operating solely in Byron Bay and surrounds for ten years.
