Annual Kerbside Clean Up Program 2008

The annual Kerbside Clean Up Program is scheduled to take place between 16 June 2008 and 4 July 2008.

An annual Kerbside Clean Up is available to households that receive a weekly Council domestic waste service.

Please note that this service is not available to rural properties, or households that receive the Council fortnightly waste service.

Clean Up Information

  • The service is designed for items too bulky for wheelie bins. 
  • The collection in your area will be completed within one week of the start date
  • Material must be able to be safely lifted by two persons
  • We cannot come back once we have been through your street

The following table outlines what can and cannot be placed out for collection.

THESE TYPES OF ITEMS WILL BE COLLECTED

Bulky Waste Metals for Recycling
  • Appliances
  • Fridge – doors removed or taped
  • Furniture & Bedding
  • Filing Cabinets
  • Carpet
  • Dishwashers / Washing Machines
  • Toys, Surfboards
  • Lawn Mowers, Bikes
  • Tools
  • Metal Bed Bases
  • Garden Equipment
  • Hot Water Systems
  • Computers
  • Stoves, Ovens

THE FOLLOWING MATERIAL WILL NOT BE COLLECTED

  • Chemical / Hazardous Wastes
  • Building / Renovation Materials
  • Soil & Stones
  • Liquids or Paint
  • Glass
  • Tree Prunings / Garden Waste
  • Concrete, Bricks or Blocks
  • Batteries or Gas Bottles
  • Fuels or Oils
  • Commercial / Industrial Waste
  • Items exceeding 1.8m – excluding mattresses
  • Small items not bagged or boxed
  • Tyres or Car Parts
  • Food Scraps / Packaging

Please Note:  Two trucks are used to do the collection.  One truck is for waste and the other is for metals. Metals should be placed in a separate pile so they can be recycled.  The trucks will move at different paces, so the piles will be collected at different times. Fridges and items requiring degassing are collected separately to the metal and bulky waste collection waste.
