Water and sewerage services

  • water supply: $1,120 per Equivalent Tenement or lot, a water usage fee also applies and water connection fee
  • bulk water: $3,495 per Equivalent Tenement of lot, to Byron Shire Council on behalf of the Rous County Council
  • sewerage: $8,488 per Equivalent Tenement or lot, plus sewerage usage charges as per Council’s Trade Waste Policy also apply

Physical Attributes Details

Conservation and habitat value of vegetation is considered low due to past clearing, however, potential impact on the environment/habitat of threatened species of amphibians occurring in or close to part of the site will need to be taken into account. Potential or actual acid sulphate soils may exist on part of the land, requiring investigation and remediation if proposed to be disturbed.

The West Byron Treatment Works immediately to the north west of the industrial estate, and poses some constraint on location of uses which are susceptible to potential odour impact within 400 m of the sewerage treatment works

Access

This estate is accessed via local industrial access streets and Bayshore Drive to the Ewingsdale Road, a sub arterial road, which in turn connects to the Pacific Highway approximately 3 km to the west. Ballina Airport is located about 30 km to the south and Byron Bay central business area is located about 2 km to the east. Byron Bay railway station is not available for goods delivery or despatch, and the nearest rail freight facility is at Casino, 73 km to the west.
