Council maintains 101 hectares of parks and gardens. There are 72 separate park areas maintained by 10 full time staff.
Included in the parks are:
22 sports fields
20 tennis courts
26 amenities buildings
53 beach accesses
4 cemeteries
Council also actively supports the activities of Dunecare and Landcare groups throughout the Shire.
