Grant Opportunities

There are many sources of funding for community groups and the private sector. If you are looking for a grant program or some tips on completing applications, explore some of the sites listed here.

Before you begin consider the following:

  • Make sure you are clear in your own mind about what type of service/program/project you want to undertake.
  • Make sure you are able to manage the project you are seeking grant money for.
  • Grants are often very competitive and often require considerable planning, research and reporting.

Some basic information to help you find and write a grant is provided on the link How To Get That Grant.

Intensive Winning Grant Workshops are held by Service at Our Community in various locations throughout the year. Dates for 2008 are provided at Our Community. Philanthropy Australia also runs regular workshops for grant seekers. Further information is available at Philanthropy Australia.

Council’s Grants Officer is available 3 days a week and can assist community groups in their efforts to complete grant applications. She can be contacted on 6685 9345 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or by email at grants.officer@byron.nsw.gov.au.
