Byron Shire Council has established a Biodiversity Extension Service to assist landholders to restore native vegetation and improve wildlife habitat across the Shire.

What’s on offer?

  1. Biodiversity assessment of your land including significant flora and fauna, vegetation types, environmental weeds and other threats,
  2. Mapping of ecological values,
  3. Advice on preparing a Biodiversity Management Plan for your property,
  4. Advice on managing threatened species, weed and pest animal control and planning for ecological restoration works,
  5. Advice on how to access funding and other incentives

Who is eligible?

Byron Shire landholders.

Priority is given to properties containing High Conservation Value vegetation and/or falling within a wildlife corridor identified by the Byron Biodiversity Conservation Strategy 2004.
