Byron’s Bush Regeneration Team was established in November 2006 to undertake high priority regeneration works throughout the Shire.  The three person team is currently working on more than 30 sites, including many that are habitat for threatened plants and animals.

The team develop Bush Regeneration Action Plans to set goals for protection, restoration and maintenance of the specific values of each site.  These plans also include information on weed control methods, animals known to occur at the site and particular habitat values to be maintained or enhanced.

The teams work includes undertaking extensive weed removal in order to create favourable conditions for the regeneration of native species and then ongoing maintenance to ensure that vegetation condition continues to improve over time.
